Get picked up right outside the airport by booking Vallarta Transfers.  They will greet you with cold water, allow you an hour to shop at a grocery store of your choice and then take you to Casa Bendita.

Parking and traffic can be a pain but if you still want to rent a car I would talk to Poncho at MEX car!

Ubers and Taxis' are easy and everywhere.  BUT....Always agree to the amount before getting in the vehicle.
